Club History

Killarney District Soccer Club Inc. was founded in 1972. In that year the Club fielded 7 teams in the Central Coast Football Association competition. Today Killarney is one of the largest football clubs outside the Sydney metropolitan area.

For 2009 in the non-competition ages we had teams represented in under 5’s, under 6’s, under 7’s, under 8’s and under 9’s. This totalled 31 teams and 288 players.

In the competition grades we had 19 junior mixed teams aged 10 yrs to 16yrs representing the club. 11 of these teams made the semi finals, 4 of those teams made the major semi final, 6 teams made their Grand Finals with the 10 F and 11C1 winning their respective Grand Finals.

Killarney District was represented by 10 teams in the Women’s competition and all together combined to win the Central Coast Women’s Football Club Champions. Out of the 10 teams 4 made their Grand Finals.

This year saw KDS represented by 7 teams in the over 35’s competition. KDS had 3 over 35 teams and one 45 team. Also the Shelly Beach Fossils had 2 over 35 teams and one 45 team.

The senior men’s competition saw 4 Men’s all age teams.

KDS Division 1 first grade and Reserve grade were also in action this year with the Division 1 1st grade team making the semi-finals.

All in all this year was a very successful year by all teams representing KDS and saw the introduction of the Small Sided Games which all the children have enjoyed.
