Club History

Killarney District Soccer Club Inc. was founded in 1972. In that year the Club fielded 7 teams in the Central Coast Football Association competition. Today Killarney is one of the largest football clubs outside the Sydney metropolitan area.

                  FIXTURES OFFICERS REPORT 2011

This year was one of Killarney District’s best years, a fitting way to celebrate our 40^th Birthday.

We fielded 72 teams in 2011 comprising of:-

32 Non-Comp teams :- U/5’s - 6 teams, U/6 - 9 teams, U7 – 7 teams, U/8 – 6 teams & U/9 – 4 teams

18 Junior Comp teams:- U10A, U10C, U10E, U11A, U11B, U11E, U12C, U13A, U13B, U13C, U13D, U14B, U14C, M15A, M15C, M16A,  M16D & M18C

9 Women’s teams:- W12B, W13A, W14A, W14B, W15A, W16A, W18A, W18B & WAA3

6 Senior teams:- MPL 1sts, MPL Res, MAA2, MAA4, MAA5 & MAA7

7 Men’s 35 &45 teams:- M35A, M35BN, M35CN, M35DN1, M35DN2, M35EN & M45A

Of the 40 competition teams 21 made the Semi Finals and amazingly 16 of those through to Grand Finals, the club’s best ever representation in Grand Finals. Here is how they finished:-

10 Premiers                - U11B, U11E, U12C, U13A, U13B, U14B, U15A, M35EN, W13A & W15A

6 Runners-Up             - U13C, U15C, U16A, W12B, M45A & MAA2

The club won both Junior Club Championship trophies, the Bill Pluim Cup and the Jack Atkins Trophy, while finishing 3^rd in Women’s Championship and 6^th in Premier League Club Championship.

Chris Ackersley  also had our young Premier League squad  performing well in our 1^st year back up with 1^st Grade just missing semis finishing 5^th and Res finishing 6^th.

I would like to thank the rest of the committee as it is a pleasure to work with you and a special thanks to Ted for filling in for me while i was enjoying myself in Europe.
